Going to India, there are lots of things in my mind, lots of people said bout it and lots of things I just heard don't know where...then arriving here, not all are as expectations...now I know the truth of this country. Maybe other places are not the same as at my part of India and others got different view, but still this is what I perceived...
1. People in India like to eat 'sireh' then spit anywhere they want..???
- False. From the start of my journey I went to different kind of places i even see the places of slums. I watch people there to see if there any people spitting wherever they want, but so far I never seen them.
2. India got really bad roads..??
- Not so true. From what I heard in India hard to find tar road, almost all just red soil road. But then our journey from a farm looking airport at Hubli to Belgaum have proper tar road already. Just that it is not as big as in Malaysia. And why is that? because there just few cars here maybe that's why the government don't want to build bigger road, only the rich person use car. Then they got highway also, plus the toll but...the toll, wow the toll is like Malaysian toll before merdeka..haha...
3. Bad water supply and food..??
- True. Just the second day arrive here, 4 peoples already got diarrhoea (including me). Man the food and water not so clean...argghh..but the senior said sure for once you will get diarrhoea once you eat food here, after you have it once, then your stomach will be immune. Just once but its horrible man, cant go class for sure just wait till have to go to toilet. So for those who are coming here, make sure you bring medicine for diarrhoea..
4. Most Indians can talk english..??
- Not so true. Only the educated one can speak english even they cant speak all the time like when the lecturers explaining something to students, suddenly they start explaining in Hindi case they don't know i suppose.
5. India is hot...??
- So not true. Here got 3 seasons winter summer and rainy and me, I arrive during rainy season they said right now until September, at that time raining at Bangalore airport already. Although its rainy season, after that I seldom see rain here..huh...but it is very cold, especially the night and early morning...very much colder than Malaysia, feel really lazy to take bath in the morning, glad got hot shower in my bathroom here. The time where its a bit hot is at 9 to 10am..but still they got very cool breeze blowing under the hot sun so didn't feel that hot...they said this is just rainy season, not yet winter, winter should be way much colder they said...huh...then summer?? who knows...haha
6. High muslim community..??
- Nahh...although can find muslim a bit in my class. Hm...there are no proper mosque, just very small narrow mosque for me to Solat Jumaat..then the khutbah is in Arabic language...the Indian Muslim student, I didn't even see them in the mosque for Solat Jumaat...
7. Cheap...??
- False. Of course there's some cheap and some expensive everywhere but here a bit expensive, not that expensive but not that cheap also.. You see, a plate of fried rice with chicken (a normal Malaysian meal) already cost 80 rupees about RM6.00...while in Malaysia that will only cost 3 to 4ringgit...then the room rental, a single room cost 60000 Rs plus 30000 Rs deposit make 90000 Rs about RM6785 per year..a single small room only...
8. Honking..??
- Indians like to honk everytime and always when they drive without reason. Maybe its the way they say hello to everyone there...hah...whistling also..no wonder the guard at Indian Embassy at Malysia always blew the whistle...huh
that's all for now...cant remember everything...so later I'll update if any more interesting things about India...heh
